Challenges in the diagnostic reagent industry
Diagnostic kits are usually kits consisting of reagents (such as antibodies, enzymes, buffers and diluents, etc.), calibrators, controls, and other items and materials packaged together. Most of the diagnostic reagents measure the corresponding test items through the discoloration reaction of enzymes. However, because humidity greatly interferes with the effectiveness of the enzymes, once the production, storage, transportation and other links are damp, the product will fail.
Test strip diagnostic products generally measure the corresponding test results through the chemical composition on the test strip and the chemical reaction of human body fluids. The activity of the test strip will decrease when it is wet, which will also lead to inaccurate test results.

The production of diagnostic kits should be carried out in a dry environment, and the special desiccant for diagnostic kits (FDA-certified silica gel desiccant) should be placed inside the product packaging box. Smaller fiber desiccant can be placed in the packaging of test strip diagnostic products. For exported diagnostic reagent products, high moisture absorption calcium chloride desiccant should be hung in the container to prevent the product packaging carton from being damp, moldy, deformed and collapsed.
